Saturday
For part two of my media diet I would be choosing to study my Saturday on January 28. The reason I picked to do the media diet on this day is because my Saturdays are not that busy. This allows me to focus on and write notes on the media I have been using throughout that day.

Morning Media Diet
The morning media diet is the time 8am-12pm. During this time its me eating breakfast and getting ready for the day. I always start my morning media diet with the combination of YouTube and TikTok.
YouTube-I always eat breakfast and watch Shannon Sharp and Skip on Undisputed till i get ready to leave the house. While watching this show i noticed i get a lot of advertisements about sports, cars, and man products liked Manscaped. I realized I get those types of advertisements is because my subscription list of creators on YouTube is sports channels, car channels, and YouTube channels that have a large following of man. So by following those channels i have put in data to youtube that I’m most likely want to buy some of those product they advertise. To fight against this I usually try to skip all ads and do not answer non of the surveys Youtube
Tiktok- I use TikTok on and off during the morning before i leave. With TikTok it’s scary how they get data on you and put the specific videos in front. I noticed with TikTok is that if you search something on google or have a conversation about a certain topic in messages. You will soon see TikTok’s about what you was searching and texting about. So far I don’t know to stop this so i might just have to delete the app

Afternoon Media Diet
This was 4pm – 6:30pm after i got back from practice and treatment. During this time i relaxed by turning on my Xbox to watch shows on HBO Max and Netflix.
HBO Max and Netflix – I use this streaming service to watch one of my favorite shows South Park and Trailer Park Boys while I relax at home. I have premium so I don’t get ads to see what type of behavior data that HBO max and Netflix is collecting on me. The data that HBO and Netflix collects on you by watching certain shows and movies will try to recommend you movies and shows to get you to continue to use their services. HBO and Netflix collect data on what you watch to get what type of humor and what gender you are. Because when i get recommended comedy shows and action movies that appeal more to males while my sister will get drama shows and romantic movies.

Night Media Diet
This was between 9pm-12am while i ate my dinner and got ready for bed while using YouTube and TikTok again.
TikTok- I use TikTok before I officially go to sleep. I recently learned that you have to go to settings and deny TikTok from going through your contacts. Because not only TikTok will show you videos of data they collected on you but also will show you videos of data they have on everyone that has TikTok in your contacts. So I went to my settings in disabled it before I went to sleep.
YouTube- This when i just use YouTube as background noise so i really didn’t pay attention to the ads and the video recommendations.

Conclusion
To me this blog is kinda hard because before this information i was already not a media person. I do not have or use the popular social media apps that are mostly known for this like twitter, instagram, and facebook. The only social media i can really analyze is TikTok that is making it really easy that they collect data on you to feed to they’re algorithms by seeing what you is liking.
